Pahang Rangers FC Opens 2025 Season with Victory Under Head Coach Luis Fonseca

Pahang Rangers kicked off the season with a game against Kuala Lumpur City FC at Sukan Pahang Sports Complex (SUKPA). The game on March 8th saw fans charged up despite the holy month of Ramadan, with cheers filling the sports complex as they welcomed the new season of more exciting matches!

However, the start of the new season is not the only exciting part of 2025 for the fans. This is because the club returns with new faces to compete in the Malaysia Premier Futsal League (MPFL), bringing in nine fresh players to extend its success. Not only that, but the new season will also witness a new era as it marks the official start of Luis Fonseca Cilleros' full tenure as head coach.

The stadium was filled with fans, buzzing with enthusiasm and anticipation, eager to see the team’s first win of the season that could lay the foundation for a successful season ahead. This energy was further fuelled when the first roaring celebration started just in the 2nd minute of the match with Felipe de Souza’s first goal of the year.

The early goal signified Pahang Rangers making their mark on their home turf, signalling their intent for a strong start to the season. The first game also witnessed Razin Rahim’s opening goal for Pahang Rangers FC in the second half, which set the team’s momentum as it gave them firm control of the match. Finally, with the scoreline at 4-2, Pahang Rangers FC sealed their victory, setting a strong tone for the rest of the season.
